SPRING & SUMMER FUN FOR KIDS 2013
Amy Cerasani & Daniel McDonald will be teaching, running and facilitating tons of different kids programs for the 2013 season. Amy & Daniel are both successful JR golfers themselves and have been part of the Shooters Family for 5+ years. Amy & Daniel started their golf careers taking lessons at Shooters way back in the day, and are now spreading their passion and love for the game onto others. All programs take place at Shooters Family Golf Centre located at 2731 Main Street, and include use of the driving range, miniature golf, putting green and chipping area along with on course practice. All range balls, miniature golf balls and other training equipment will be provided. An assortment of golf clubs are available for loan to participants who do not currently own clubs, but if you have your own we encourage you to use them!
Getting to know Golf program
Dates: May 18, 25, June 1, 8, and 15
Time: 9:30am - 10:30am
Ages: 5-12 years
Cost: $90.00 per child
This program covers basic rules of golf, proper etiquette that should be followed on the golf course and equipment basics. Fundamentals of the game such as putting, short game, driving and iron shorts are instructed. A strong emphasis on swing technique. Fun competitions will end every class. This class is best suited for kids who are looking to get into the game of golf, meet some golfing friends or simply its their first time! All are welcome.
Golf Exposure and Training
Dates: May 18, 25, June 1, 8, and 15
Time: 11:00am - 12:00am
Ages: 10 and up
Cost: $100.00 per child
This program is aimed towards anyone looking to improve their golf skills and knowledge, or to get some extra time on the range. Highlights include basic instruction, golf geared exercises, muscle memory and on course play. Strong emphasis on swing and technique and how to develop good habits. Perfect place to meet more golfers your age!
Summer Full and Half Day Camps
Dates: July 8 - 12
Time: Full day: 9am - 4pm Half day: 9am - 12:00pm or 1pm - 4pm
Ages: 5-14
Costs: Full day: $419 per person Half day: $189 per person
Summer day camps are aimed at getting kids interested in golf. The program has a strong focus on rules, safety, etiquette, dress code and equipment basics, with the emphasis being on swing formation, developing swing habits, practice routines and how to have fun while actually on the golf course. The days will be divided up depending what the focus is for that day. Starting on Mondays the focus will be on safety and how to act at the golf course, where Friday the children will be on the golf course exemplifying their skills and passion for the game in a minature tournament with their friends. There will be a 30 minute break each day for lunch, which the kids will bring with them. An example of a daily would break down, would be much like school, start with some theory, implement the new skill, practice the new skill and keep expanding. Each kid will leave the program with a certification and prize. This is a great program from kids to meet other golfers, spend the day outside and develop skills for a game they can take with them the rest of their lives. All skill levels are welcome.
